CANNELE DE BORDEAUX
Where does the CANNELE come from ?
The CANNELE is a culinary specialty from BORDEAUX (Southwest France) . In 1519 , the nuns of the Covent of the Annunciation in Bordeaux were making cakes with flour recovered from bags which had spilled on the docks, and eggs yolks scavenged from local vintners, since only the whites were needed for making wine. They then distributed these cakes to the poor.
